A First Look at the Transportive Design of the 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach

Full of whimsy, nostalgia, and a deep connection to nature, these 22 spaces provide just the escape we need.

This year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach reflects a world that has been powerfully inspired by the beauty and wonders of nature, the little pleasures and indulgences of life at home, and a hunger to explore far-off destinations once again. From the exotic wallpapered shower in Alexandra Naranjo’s guest bathroom to the cozy bookcase bar full of booze and board games in Benjamin Deaton’s living room to Ellen Kavanaugh’s luxurious Bar Mustique inspired by beach clubs of decades past, this South Flagler Drive home in West Palm Beach has been transformed into a true sensory thrill.

The 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House Palm Beach opens to the public on April 8, offering both masked, in-person tours as well as virtual tours for design enthusiasts around the world. Tours will be available through May 9, with all proceeds from ticket sales going to support the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. Tickets are on sale now.

“The Sunny Spot” by Mally Skok Design

Mally Skok found a delightful secret in the home’s second-floor seating area: an abundance of natural light. Named “The Sunny Spot,” the designer hopes this passageway will be a vibrant and friendly invitation to chat with a friend or catch up on a good book while enjoying the South Florida sun.

Skok’s space not only embodies her own creativity (the wallcovering and roman shade fabric are from her product line), but the creativity and treasures of antiques and vintage stores in the area. The vintage foo dogs from The Elephant’s Foot Antiques, the gilt faux-bamboo mirror is from Circa Who, and the acrylic bench is from Palm Beach Vintage. The designer also features artwork from her favorite women-owned businesses and female creatives like Chairish, Pamela Hoffmeister, and Gregg Irby Gallery.
